Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari, in conjunction with the Waikato Biodiversity Forum, is hosting a lizard informational day which includes; presentations by leading local experts and our sanctuary staff, an ancient forest walk, tracking card workshop and specially discounted rates for workshop attendees on an exclusive "Tuatara Hunt Guided Tour".
Programme of Activities
9:30am - 10:30am
Presentations on ecology and monitoring of lizards. Including an introduction to lizards in Aotearoa New Zealand and their place in our eco-system.
10:30am - 11am
Morning tea & mingle
11am – 12pm
A walk into the ancient forest walk to look at tracking tunnels, lizard habitat and lizard signs.
12pm - 12:30pm
Tracking card workshop – lizard identification
1pm - 2:30pm
